A Car Show for the Exiles, Sunday in Alpharetta
Fuel Coffee Roasters host a car show for Exiles Rugby Club in Alpharetta, the Augusta Furies collect work clothes for a cause, and two Atlanta women's clubs are turning tackles into pledges
Georgia rugby runs on bake sales with better engines. On Sunday, October 11, Fuel Coffee Roasters at 800 N Main Street in Alpharetta host a car show benefiting Exiles Rugby Club, 10 AM to 2 PM, with drawings for two $100 restaurant gift certificates and an autographed baseball bat the club values at $500. Bring a car, or bring a coffee order.
Two weeks later and across the state, the Augusta Furies are collecting professional attire: a clothing drive on Monday, October 26, 6 to 9 PM at Savannah River Brewing Company, the same brewery that hosts the Maddogs' Thursday social after practice.
Atlanta's women's clubs have found a fundraiser that doubles as a match. The Harlequins ran a Tackle-A-Thon on Alumni Day, pledges per tackle made, and Atlanta 2.0 Selects do the same on October 17 against Birmingham at the Old White Rugby Pitch, 1 PM, with a pledge link in the club's bio.
Sunday touch is still running: Atlanta Touch Rugby play 2 to 4 PM, most weeks at Fair Oaks Park in Marietta, with the location confirmed each weekend in the group, so check the Atlanta Touch Rugby Facebook group before you drive. If your club has a fundraiser, a social, or a touch night with a date on it, send it over and it goes here. Every date is on the calendar.
