In Roswell, Rebels Rugby has named its high school girls coaching team. In the club's own words on Monday, July 20, "our girls just got a coaching team," with Timmy Swanson leading the girls side and Damon Duncan alongside him.
It lands in a fall when the girls game is opening more doors across Georgia than it has in years. Between the Rebels, a new Exiles U19 girls program in Alpharetta, and a try-rugby day up at North Georgia, a player who wants to start this season has real choices, and none of them ask for experience.
Alpharetta's Exiles are opening a U19 girls program for high school ages 14 to 18, from any school, led by World Rugby-certified women coaches, no experience required. First training is Thursday, August 6, 7 PM at the Innovation Academy Lower Field.

Alpharetta's Exiles run Kids Rugby 101 and Fun for ages 5 to 12, Tuesdays at 6 PM at the Innovation Academy Lower Field, non-contact and open to all. A Spring 2027 Saturday Minis program for ages 4 to 8 is coming, with a start date to be announced.

The Rebels Summer Skills & Drills Camp is a wrap, ages 5 to 14, all abilities. Looking ahead, the Rebels Open House and Gear Exchange lands Saturday, September 12 at Roswell Area Park, the fall season's front door for ages K to 18.

The Atlanta Valkyries, a girls-only club for U12 through high school, are collecting interest for the season through a form on their site. One more open door into the girls game this fall.

Youth rugby in Georgia runs from U6 flag through U19, and most clubs field multiple age bands under one roof. Many programs are coed at the younger ages, and girls play alongside dedicated girls-only sides as they come up.
New families: message the club first. Nearly every program runs intro-friendly practices where a new player can try a session before committing, and cleats plus a mouthguard cover the starting kit.
