Georgia's college clubs pointed to the August activities fairs, the club-rush tables where most college players actually sign up, no experience required. UGA, Georgia Tech, Kennesaw State, UNG, and Life University all take walk-ons that way every fall, so a rising freshman can join a college side without ever having played.
