Spartans 28-17 in Savannah, Old White 92 on Fairburn Road
Gainesville beat the Savannah Shamrocks 28-17 at Daffin Park, Atlanta Old White's D3 put 92 on Nooga Rugby to close a triple header, the Augusta Maddogs lost to the Charleston Outlaws with one try to show for it, and the Shamrocks have called off Saturday's home match
Gainesville came home from Savannah with the score, "Rocked up with 17 and rocked the Rocks" in the club's words: "FINAL SCORE: SPARTANS 28 - 17 SHAMROCKS!" posted from Daffin Park on Saturday evening, October 17. The Shamrocks' own carousel carried the same score on its second slide with a line that said the rest: "Not the results we wanted but YOUR SHAMROCKS did not go down without a worthy fight." On Monday the club called off Saturday's home match against South Florida, which leaves Macon Love away on Saturday, November 7 as Savannah's next date. Gainesville's next date on the calendar is High Country on Saturday, November 7, which Gainesville's schedule lists at home and High Country's graphic lists away.
The Augusta Maddogs posted their result on Monday morning: "FINAL SCORE, 7 Maddogs," and a caption that said "Tough match on Saturday against the Charleston Outlaws! Not the score we were looking for," the 7 being "our lone try of the day." The Maddogs open practice to new players on Tuesday, October 20 and Thursday, October 22 at 6:30 PM at 2055 Division Street, then play at Hilton Head on Saturday, October 24 at 1 PM, with Columbus at home on November 7 to close the fall, per the club's site.
Atlanta Old White's D3 side closed a triple header on Fairburn Road at 3 PM and posted it on Sunday: "The boys came to play! We put on a dominant performance yesterday, taking down Nooga Rugby 92-7!" The club's graphic has it as a D3 senior men's match, 92 to 7, two weeks after the 64-24 win over High Country, and it followed Kennesaw State against Auburn at 10 AM and 2.0 Selects against Birmingham Steel at 1 PM on the same pitch. Old White's D3 travel to Georgia Tech on Saturday, October 31, and the D1 side host Nashville on Saturday, November 14, per the club's site. The club is also running a 50/50 raffle for the American Breast Cancer Foundation this month and asking for pink at the pitch.
Gwinnett's third match of the fall is set: "Match #3 vs. Atlanta Renegades: This Saturday in Snellville," a 2 PM kickoff on Saturday, October 24, per the Lions' match-week graphic, with the ground still to be named. The Renegades' site had the match a week early and away at South Gwinnett Park, so the Lions' Monday post is the newer word. The Renegades train Tuesdays and Thursdays at Peachtree Middle School in Dunwoody, 7 to 9 PM, per the club. Athens host the Atlanta Bucks the same afternoon, 1 PM on the lower field at Walker Park, per the Eagles' Monday match-day post, which the Bucks reposted to their Story.
Macon Love took a side to the Deep Roots Tournament in Milledgeville on Saturday, "Love heads to Milly," and the host women thanked them for making the trip; no Macon score was posted. The club trains Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 PM at the Macon-Bibb County Softball Complex and hosts the Shamrocks at Carolyn Crayton Park on Saturday, November 7, kickoff to be posted. After the October 3 loss to Old White, High Country's men wrote "Next stop, Nashville," and the club's schedule graphic has them there on Saturday, October 31. Every kickoff the clubs have posted is on the calendar.
