Tech 138, Georgia College 0, Twenty-Two Tries
Georgia Tech's men run to three from three at Stamps Field, Life University's men fall 27-10 to Navy in Marietta, UGA's trip to Alabama is called off for the storm, and the Deep Roots Tournament opens Saturday in Milledgeville
Georgia Tech's full-time graphic from Saturday, October 10 reads 138 to 0 over Georgia College, with the line beneath it doing the rest: 22 tries, 14 conversions, 11 total scorers. The 1 PM kickoff at Stamps Field was the makeup of September 5, when both clubs' openers were called off, and Georgia College came to Atlanta for it with a "Bobcats take on the Buzz" game-day post of their own. Tech are three for three this fall. The schedule now reads North Alabama at home on Saturday, October 17 at 1 PM, then Middle Tennessee away on Saturday, October 24, kickoff to be posted.
Life University's varsity men lost 27-10 to Navy at Lupo Family Field on Saturday at noon, the club's graphic reading "full time 10-27" over an action photo and the caption "fell short at home." The athletics site lists the next three on the road: Penn State on Saturday, October 17 (kickoff to be announced), Mount St. Mary's on November 7 and Army on November 14, before Southern Virginia visit Marietta on Saturday, October 31 at 1 PM. Life's club side, in the American Rugby Premiership, beat NYAC 43-21 at Lupo on Sunday, October 11, per the full-time graphic that opens the club's photo set; the club's own posts had the kickoff at noon and at 1 PM, and the league's graphic had the match on Saturday, so the day and the score are the club's and the kickoff is nobody's.
UGA's men did not play. The club posted on Friday morning, October 9, that "due to imminent weather in the Tuscaloosa area" that night's match at Alabama was canceled, and the club's site named Hurricane Isaias. No new date has been posted. UGA resume at home against Kennesaw State on Saturday, October 24 at 1 PM at their Lake Herrick field, and the club's newsletter asks the crowd to bring canned goods for local food shelters. Kennesaw State's own schedule has that one as an away day, which matches.
Two Saturday results are still unposted: North Georgia's men against Lee in Dahlonega, and UGA's women against Kennesaw State's women in Athens. Georgia Tech's women, at Alabama on Saturday, October 17, have yet to post their September scores. Life's women, with no match this weekend, had three players called into a USA Rugby camp at Chula Vista, per the club. UGA's women are running their annual Hunger Bowl through Saturday, October 31 for the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.
Saturday, October 17 is the fullest college day of the fall. Georgia College's women host their annual the Deep Roots Tournament on IM Field 4 at 120 West Campus Drive in Milledgeville: Georgia College against Mississippi State at 9:45 AM, Mississippi State against a Macon Love and alumni motley side at 10:10, Georgia College against the motley at 11:05 and a round robin from 11:35, free to attend, with the club's shirt sales going to its charity. North Georgia's men and the Exiles list the men's side of the same day. Kennesaw State's men host Auburn at The Perch, kickoff to be posted. Georgia Tech's women are at Alabama. Every kickoff the clubs have posted is on the calendar.
