138 at Stamps, and the Weekend the Storm Took

Georgia Tech put 138 on Georgia College without reply, Hurricane Isaias called off UGA's Friday in Tuscaloosa and both of Savannah's Saturday matches, and Life University's men fell to Navy at home

Georgia Tech's men posted the graphic on Saturday night with three words, "Final score from today": Georgia Tech 138, Georgia College 0, with 22 tries, 14 conversions and 11 different scorers listed beneath. The 1 PM kickoff at Stamps Field was a makeup of the September 5 fixture both clubs lost to the calendar, and Georgia College traveled for it five weeks later with a game-day graphic of their own. Tech have now won all three of their fall matches, by 49-24 over Tennessee Tech, 37-14 at Vanderbilt and Saturday's 138. Georgia College posted no result; the Bobcats host their Deep Roots Tournament on Saturday, October 17.

The rest of the weekend belonged to the weather. UGA's men posted on Friday morning, October 9, that "due to imminent weather in the Tuscaloosa area" the match at Alabama that night was canceled, with the club "working diligently" on a new date; the club's site named Hurricane Isaias. UGA are back on Saturday, October 24 at home against Kennesaw State at 1 PM, a match the club's newsletter says doubles as a canned food drive for local food shelters. In Savannah, the Shamrocks called off both Saturday matches on Friday: the men's friendly at the Columbia Rhinos, a 3:30 PM kickoff at Owens Field Park, and the women's match at the Carolina Villains, which the Villains' own post blamed on "the impending weather from Hurricane Isaias." The club says it will post makeup dates for both.

Life University's men lost 27-10 to Navy at Lupo Family Field in Marietta on Saturday at noon, "fell short at home" in the club's words, and travel to Penn State on Saturday, October 17 with the kickoff still to be announced. Life's club side beat NYAC 43-21 at home on Sunday, October 11, per the full-time graphic on the club's photo set. North Georgia's men hosted Lee and UGA's women hosted Kennesaw State's women on Saturday, and neither club has posted a score.

The Augusta Furies' combined side with Southern Pines won at the Magnolia Drifters' round robin in Cayce, South Carolina on Saturday, a 1 PM kickoff; the clubs' captions and their results graphic give two different scores, so the final goes up here when the club confirms it. The Atlanta Harlequins confirmed their October 3 win over Boston in a players-of-the-match post, score still unposted by the club; the referee record has it 12-5.

Saturday, October 17 is full. Georgia College's Deep Roots Tournament opens at 9:45 AM on IM Field 4 in Milledgeville, free to attend. Georgia Tech host North Alabama at Stamps Field at 1 PM. Kennesaw State host Auburn at The Perch. At the Atlanta Rugby Grounds on Fairburn Road, Atlanta 2.0 Selects host Birmingham Steel at 1 PM as a Tackle-A-Thon and alumni day, then Atlanta Old White's D3 host Chattanooga on the same field, kickoff to be posted. The Augusta Maddogs host Charleston at 1 PM on Division Street, the Harlequins play at Northern Virginia at 11 AM, and the Shamrocks host Gainesville. Every kickoff the clubs have posted is on the calendar.
