Lions 38-15 at the Bucks, Old White 64 at Grant Park
Gwinnett's men open the fall with a 38-15 win at Atlanta Bucks, Old White's D3 beat High Country 64-24, and Savannah's men and women both head for South Carolina
Two September dates slipped, so Saturday, October 3 was the first time the Gwinnett Lions and the Atlanta Bucks got on a pitch this fall. The Lions won it 38-15, a scoreline the referee society's official record confirms, and the club posted a full-time graphic with a line to match: "Nabbed ourselves a trophy." Their next match is at home in Lilburn against the Atlanta Renegades on October 24. The Bucks go to Athens the same day for a 1 PM kickoff at Walker Park.
At Grant Park, Atlanta Old White's D3 side beat High Country 64-24 in the Georgia matrix. "AOW handles business," Old White posted; High Country posted the same number and a team photo. High Country's next 15s date is October 31 at Nashville. Old White are at home on October 17 against Chattanooga at 3 PM, the second half of a shared match day at the Old White Rugby Pitch that opens with the Atlanta 2.0 women at 1 PM.
Augusta are posting again, with a weekly practice graphic for the Larry Bray Memorial Pitch on Division Street (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:30 PM), and host Charleston there on Saturday, October 17 at 1 PM. The Renegades and Gainesville are still looking for a date for their postponed fixture; it goes on the calendar the moment either club posts one.
Saturday, October 10 is a road day for Savannah: the men play Columbia at 3:30 PM, per the club's game-week post, and the women are at the Carolina Villains at 1 PM. Macon Love travel to Montgomery the same day. A week later the Deep Roots Tournament comes to Milledgeville on October 17, with Macon and the Exiles among the senior sides entered. Every date is on the calendar.
