Maddogs Take the Inaugural Ernie Silva Cup

Augusta Maddogs are the first name on the Ernie Silva Cup. The Maddogs beat Exiles 19 to 12 at Larry Bray Field on Saturday, August 29, on a day that also brought the Greenville Griffins across the state line. Greenville handled Augusta 42 to 0 in the other posted result.

Exiles named Moose (forwards) and Freddy Mercury (backs) as their men of the match and thanked Greenville for making the trip. The cup, in the host's own words, is the shortest, hairiest trophy known to rugby, and it stays in Augusta until next year.

Exiles visit Atlanta Old White at the Atlanta Rugby Grounds on Saturday, September 26.
