Opening Saturday: Georgia Rugby Kicks Off Everywhere at Once on September 12

Saturday, September 12 is the busiest day on the Georgia rugby calendar since spring, and every division is in it. Golden Eagle, Rebels Rugby GA and the Atlanta Valkyries take high school sides to Father Ryan's Irish Ruggerfest in Nashville, a one-day tournament this year.

The college game opens in five places: Kennesaw State's 13th annual alumni match at Fullers Park in Marietta, Georgia Tech's women at Kennesaw State, Life University's club side at White Plains, North Georgia's men at home to Lee, and North Georgia's women at Coastal Carolina. Georgia's men are already two matches in after beating Lander 41-22 and 13-0 on Friday, September 4.

Senior men: Augusta at High Country, 1 PM; Athens hosting Gainesville, 1 PM; the Bucks, home from the Bingham Cup in Brisbane, hosting Columbus. Women: Atlanta 2.0 Selects in a round robin at Charlotte, and High Country's women at home to the Chattanooga Queens.

Never played? Two doors open the same morning. The Atlanta Bucks run a free Rugby 101 from 11 AM to 1 PM at 709 Hortense Place NW, and Atlanta Old White fill their Saturday with a touch and BBQ day at the Atlanta Rugby Grounds. Show up in cleats or sneakers; both clubs say no experience needed.

Every kickoff, venue and address above is on the calendar, sourced to the club's own post. Each section tab carries the full story for its division.
