If your kid has been watching from the fence, this is the weekend to step through it. Rebels Rugby GA hold their free Fall Try-Rugby Open House on Saturday, October 10 at Elkins Pointe Middle School in Roswell, 10 AM to noon: no experience needed, no contact, all abilities, with a gear exchange alongside. Golden Eagle Rugby hold their Open Day on Sunday, October 11 from 3 to 5 PM on the YMCA soccer fields at 940 Windsor Parkway in Brookhaven, with light training led by players from the UGA and Kennesaw State college sides, coaches on hand, and food and drinks.

Then the season starts. Rebels' U8 to U14 practices begin Tuesday, October 13 at Elkins Pointe, with the high school 7s already training Tuesdays and Thursdays. Golden Eagle have published a first-practice date for every age group: U10 to U14 on Tuesday, October 13 at Lynwood Park (6 to 7:30 PM), U8 and U10 on Saturday, October 17 at Skyland Park (8:30 to 10 AM), and U16 and U19 on Monday, October 19 at Lynwood Park (5:30 to 7:30 PM). Atlanta Old White Youth's 15s registration is open with practices starting in November.

Old White's youth side spent Saturday, October 3 in Huntsville at the Heart of Dixie tournament and came home as champions. Four matches, four wins: 43-0 over ICRON in the third, then 26-7 over the Raptors in the championship match, per the club's result graphics. "4-0 today!! Bringing home some more hardware!!" the club posted that evening.

Further out, the Atlanta Valkyries are headed to the Halloween 7s in Knoxville on October 31 and back to Old North State on November 14 and 15, and USA Rugby has just put its U19 winter camp in Marietta for December 19 to 22, open to every high school player in a USA Youth and High School Rugby program (details in the next story). Every date is on the calendar.

Correction, October 11: Rebels Rugby GA's open house set for Saturday, October 10 was canceled and is rescheduled to Tuesday, October 20 at 6 PM at Elkins Pointe, per the club.
