Rebels Sweep All Seven at the Irish Ruggerfest, Golden Eagle Take Second, and AOW Youth Beat the Hosts

Father Ryan's Irish Ruggerfest ran as a single day this year, round robin only, with 34 matches on two fields between 10:30 AM and 3:50 PM. Georgia had four squads on the sheet: Golden Eagle Rugby's high school boys, Rebels Rugby GA's boys and girls, the Atlanta Valkyries, and Atlanta Old White Youth's boys.

Golden Eagle's day, exactly as the club posted it: 43-0 over Spring Hill, 32-7 over the Raptors, then "FINAL 10 EAGLES 15 KYR" and "FINAL 10 EAGLES 15 REBELS." The caption said it plainly: "Boys take second in Nashville!" That Rebels result is the one all-Georgia match of the day, and it went to Rebels 15-10.

Rebels Rugby GA had seven matches on the sheet, the busiest Georgia schedule of the day, and won all seven: the boys 4-0, per the club, including the 15-10 over Golden Eagle and four tries in their last game, and the girls 3-0, "won ALL three matches" in the club's Sunday, September 13 post. Scores beyond the Golden Eagle match are the clubs' to post, and they go up here when they do.

Atlanta Old White Youth beat the host Father Ryan boys 20-10; the Irish posted it themselves on Tuesday, September 15 as part of a 2-2 day for the hosts. Father Ryan's girls varsity beat the Atlanta Valkyries 20-15, the host's account of it; the Valkyries had five matches on the sheet.

One set of eyes in Nashville belonged to Wesleyan College. The Macon school's head coach watched every girls' match on the day, recruiting the founding class for a varsity women's program that plays its first season in Fall 2027. If a Georgia girl played Saturday, she was seen. The Radar's feature on Wesleyan has the scholarship details; Wesleyan is a Radar charter partner.

For the record, Father Ryan hosts the Sumner 7s in Hendersonville, Tennessee on Saturday, September 19, with no Georgia side on the schedule. Back home, Rebels' free Try Rugby and Open House is Saturday, October 10 in Roswell, the Exiles' U19 girls train Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 PM in Alpharetta, and Golden Eagle's 2026-27 registration is open at goldeneaglerugby.com.

One more youth date is settled: Atlanta Old White's youth side hosts Rebels Rugby GA on Saturday, November 14, per Old White's confirmed schedule. If your program has a fall date that is not on the calendar, send it to hello@therugbyradar.com.
