Twelve Players, 49 Points

Twelve Nighthawks Score 49 in Milledgeville, and the Official Result Goes to Georgia College

College rugby produced the strangest scoreline in Georgia this fall, and both clubs involved handled it exactly the way you would want. North Georgia's men traveled to Milledgeville on Saturday, September 26 for Georgia College's fall opener and scored 49 points to the Bobcats' 5. They did it with twelve players.

"With only 14 players UNG stood their ground," the Nighthawks posted afterward. "Due to injuries UNG was forced to play with 12 (giving the technical win to GCSU), but we were still able to put up 49 points." Fifteens rules being fifteens rules, a side that cannot field enough players concedes the official result, so the win on paper belongs to Georgia College, per the clubs.

Georgia College, for their part, hosted the day, posted their game-day graphics, and let the rugby speak. UNG closed their own post looking forward, thanking the Bobcats for hosting "and look forward to seeing them at home Oct 31st!"

That rematch is real and on both schedules: Georgia College travel to Dahlonega on Saturday, October 31. Before then, UNG host Lee University on October 10, and Georgia College are at Lee on October 3 before hosting their Deep Roots Tournament in Milledgeville on October 17. All three dates are on the calendar.
