107 on the Road

UNG Women Run In 107 at Lee, Georgia Tech Open at Stamps With 49, and the Shamrocks Split a Savannah Doubleheader

The University of North Georgia's women put up the number of the weekend: a 107-24 win at Lee University on Saturday, September 26, delivered with a results graphic and three words, "SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED." The Nighthawks women, who opened their season with a home doubleheader two weeks earlier, have now scored in triple digits on the road.

In Atlanta, Georgia Tech's men opened their home season under a 7 PM kickoff at Stamps Field, beating Tennessee Tech 49-24. The club posted a full-time graphic and a one-line verdict: "Yellow Jackets win."

Savannah's Saturday was a doubleheader at Daffin Park, and it split. The Shamrocks men won their first friendly of the season 50-7 over Hilton Head Island. The women dropped their first matrix match 26-5 to the Charleston Hurricanes, a first competitive outing for a side the club has been building all summer.

Life University's club side won 40-19 at Mystic River in Malden, Massachusetts, playing through a Nor'easter, and sits undefeated through three weeks of the American Rugby Premiership, per the league's weekend recap. Life's varsity men fell 33-35 at Millenia Atlantic in Florida, per the athletics site. And in the metro, Atlanta Old White's D3 side took the neighbors' derby against Exiles RFC 84-10, per the referee society's official record.

Saturday, October 3 now stacks up: a men's and women's doubleheader at Grant Park (Old White at High Country, 2 PM and 4 PM), Kennesaw State's men and women both at The Perch, Georgia Tech at Vanderbilt, Life hosting Mary Washington at Lupo Family Field, and the Harlequins' Alumni Day at Mozley Park. Every date is on the calendar.
