Two Free Ways In This October

Rebels, Golden Eagle and Old White Youth Open the Fall With a Morning of Sevens, and October Brings Two Free Ways In

The metro's youth fall opened the way youth rugby should: three clubs, one pitch, and a photo dump. Rebels Rugby GA, Golden Eagles Rugby and Atlanta Old White Youth shared a morning of local 7s at the Old White pitch on Saturday, September 26. "Good hits, fast legs, and plenty of handshakes after," the Rebels posted. "This is what 'high tides rise all ships' looks like on a Saturday."

Golden Eagle came away with the results graphic: "EAGLES WIN," 21-14 over Old White Youth and 28-20 over the Roswell side, per the club's post. The morning was billed as scrimmages, and the photos across all three accounts look like exactly what a first fall Saturday should be.

If your kid watched from the fence, October is the month to step through it. Rebels Rugby GA hold a free Try Rugby Open House on Saturday, October 10 in Roswell, 10 AM to noon, no contact, all curious families, with a gear exchange alongside. Golden Eagle Rugby hold their Open Day on Sunday, October 11, 3 to 5 PM at the YMCA fields on Windsor Parkway, and current players are encouraged to bring a friend.

Registration is live at both clubs, Old White's youth 15s registration opened September 24 with practices starting November 9, and the fall travel calendar carries the Halloween 7s in Knoxville on October 31 and more beyond it. Every date, and every club's way in, is on the calendar and the club directory.

Correction, October 14: Rebels Rugby GA's open house set for Saturday, October 10 was canceled and is rescheduled to Tuesday, October 20, 6 to 8 PM at Elkins Pointe, per the club.
